'Predella'

'Predella' is a short film written and directed by Vita Hewison (London College of Communication 3rd year)and is a simple and artisitc film set in a small cornershop. After much deliberation with her course tutors she decided that she wanted to build a set rather than film on location. At this point I was asked if I was able to help by designing a structure to support an  8x4m ceiling and allow for areas of wall section to be removed so that wideangle shots could be filmed. After this was accepted by the health and safety person at her uni. Vita and I costed the project under budget and organised the delivery of all the materials for the build week  With the aid of friends and her course mates we built a fully fitted cornershop in the Hannah Barry Gallery in Peckham Rye.

Shameless Series 10 Advert

Working in the Art Department for Skyhook on a Channel 4 advert for the new series of Shameless. Around 100 tonnes of aggregate was used to create 2 spaces one made into a red alien desert and the other into a luner landscape, the former once used was then adapted and made into an artic tundra. Each one was made with crash matts hidden in the set for a stuntman to fall into then they were swapped for steel decks for Frank Gallagher to then stand up an act on.
Here are some pictures of the build

Here are some pictures of the set in action with green screen working and Frank

Dream Demons

Project: "Dream Demons" (Firecracker Films)
Director/ Producer: Jim Nally
Producer: Tim Riding (Firecracker Films)
DOP: Neve Cunningham
Camera Asst: Dave Prevost
Art Department: Jamie Beaton

In early Novemeber I recieved a call explaining that the Art Director for a 3 episode doumentary called ''Dream Demons'' had dropped out last minute and asked if I felt up for filling in. The interviews with the victims of sleep paraylsis or 'night terrors' had been filmed and we were to film reconstructions of  their experiences. Therefore most of the work was based in bedroom situations but it was still great experience to work on a project with only myself as Art Department.
